On Monday, June 9, 2008, a “Regional Rally for Rail” including Congressman John Mica, will be held at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport. John H. Bultema, III, Chairman of the Central Florida Transportation Corridors “Task Force” and President of Fifth Third Bank, will chair this “regional gathering.”
Central Florida Commuter Rail is an essential ingredient in our formula for success when it comes to the future of the Central Florida Region and it is important for us to “rally” in support of this regional effort. Toward this end, the Central Florida Partnership is honored to present this important informational meeting, designed to inform civic, business and governmental leaders of the Central Florida Region about the current status of this significant effort.
Recently, a delegation of Central Floridians, led by John H. Bultema, III, Chairman of the Central Florida Transportation Corridors “Task Force,” traveled to Washington, D.C., to meet with Senator Bill Nelson, Senator Mel Martinez, the Central Florida Congressional Delegation and Federal Transit Administration leaders. “At every turn, we received strong encouragement, especially from Congressman John Mica,” said Bultema. “Because of his passionate and faithful leadership, this matter continues to stay “on the drawing boards” and is ready to move ahead once we receive final approval from the Florida Legislature.”
