Become an Advocate for Vote No on 4

“Leading economists report that Amendment 4 will shrink Florida’s economy by more than $34 billion annually, take nearly $12 billion out of the pockets of working Floridians, and cost our state nearly 270,000 jobs.  That’s why a coalition of nearly 300 leading business, civic and labor groups is working to defeat Amendment 4 – and we need your help.”

At a meeting on Thursday, Ed Timberlake, Chair of the “Vote No on 4” Central Florida Regional Coordinating Council, and Chairman, Central Florida Board of Seaside National Bank & Trust, called attention to the urgency of mobilizing industry leaders to assist in building support for the “Vote No on 4”campaign.  “We have just 76 days until the General Election,” said Timberlake.  “That’s why we have designed the Industry Mobilization Plan, a program of voter outreach uniquely designed for companies that wish to educate their employees, sub-contractors and vendors on the perils of Amendment Four.”

Over the next two weeks, the “Vote No on 4” campaign, led by Citizens for Lower Taxes and a Stronger Economy, will conduct a major e-mail registration drive to build a list of “advocates opposing Amendment 4.”  Once “advocates” register online, the campaign will confirm their voter registration, target absentee voters, early voters and super voters and ensure that they are fully-mobilized with up-to-date information via www.Florida2010.org to share with their friends, family members and co-workers via social networking platforms before the November 2 election.

It’s a simple process:

  1. Encourage your employees and colleagues to register as an “Advocate” in opposition to Amendment 4.  A high level of participation is critical in defeating Amendment 4 which will hurt Florida’s working families.  Visit www.noamendment4.com to register.

  2. Even easier, provide the “Vote No on 4” campaign with a detailed list of your interested employees, organization members, friends and family.  This data will be handled with the greatest sensitivity and confidentiality and will not be shared with others.  It will be used only to communicate the messages of “Vote No on 4.”
