"It is her efforts and ideas that have made the programs at Orlando, Inc., so successful and she has been instrumental in making The B.I.G.* Summit a premier event for us," Hielema continued. "Because of the role she has served at Orlando, Inc., I am honored to announce that Vilma is now named Executive Vice President. In this role, she will continue with her current responsibilities and represent Orlando, Inc., to our members and the community." Vilma came to the Chamber in 1999 with over fourteen years of experience in public and professional relations and practice development in the medical and health care industry. She was first hired as Vice President of Public and Private Partnerships for WORKFORCE 2020, where she utilized her ties with local community-based organizations to assist businesses in accessing and providing support services for their employees, mainly in the areas of transportation, childcare, training, housing and healthcare. After serving as Vice President of Community Engagement of myregion.org for several years, Vilma was appointed Vice President of Strategic Initiatives for Orlando, Inc., a Line of Business of the Central Florida Partnership, responsible for the all the Chamber programs and activities, including The B.I.G.* Summit, Central Florida’s premier event for *Business Innovation and Growth, as well as maintaining strong working relationships with its partners and alliances, community leaders and special interest groups. During her tenure with myregion.org - A Regional Development Program, also a Line of Business of the Central Florida Partnership, which brings together business, civic and government leaders from across the region to examine the global demographics and trends that are shaping the Central Florida Region, one of her most fulfilling projects included the educational outreach process to name and brand SunRail. During this period, Vilma conducted multiple presentations and focus groups in seven counties, engaging and educating our community about the commuter rail project and to select the logo design concept and its official name. More than 3,000 residents were engaged during the community outreach process and more than 400 unique names were submitted, with SunRail emerging overwhelmingly as the people’s choice. These educational and informational presentations were delivered in English and Spanish and also included the Spanish media. "It is gratifying for me to have been involved in so many innovative and successful initiatives over the last decade, and I look forward to continuing in this new role to advance the Regional Priorities of the Central Florida Partnership through the work of Orlando, Inc.," said Quintana.
