On Wednesday, twenty-five Central Florida Partnership board members and investors led by 2011- 2012 Chair Jeff Jonasen will travel to Tallahassee for private meetings with the two newly elected leaders of the Central Florida Legislative Delegation – Rep. Chris Dorworth (R-Heathrow), Chair, and Sen. Andy Gardiner (R-Orlando), Vice Chair. The purpose of the trip to the Florida capital, which will occur during a critical part of the 2012 legislative session, is to provide participants on the trip with an opportunity to show their strong support for the formation and continuation of the Central Florida Legislative Delegation as a positive force for the region in Tallahassee and to dialogue directly with the two top delegation leaders on the key public policy priorities of the Central Florida Partnership. To accomplish these important objectives, a private dinner meeting will be held on Wednesday evening with Rep. Dorworth and the following morning participants will gather for a private breakfast meeting with Sen. Gardiner before returning to Orlando on Thursday afternoon. "With Rep. Chris Dorworth in line to be the House Speaker in 2014 and Sen. Andy Gardiner a favorite to become Senate President in 2014, the stars are once again aligning for returning the two top legislative leadership posts to the Central Florida region," stated Central Florida Partnership Vice President for Public Policy Mike Ketchum. "The timing of this trip could not be better for our Central Florida Partnership leaders to further build these important relationships with the delegation leadership that will result in successful and productive future partnerships with the Central Florida Legislative Delegation on matters of importance to our region and state," he added.
